ABOUT

Koh works primarily on aluminum. Using a grinder, dental instruments and sandpaper, 

he creates patterns on his chosen metal so that they turn into an effective carrier of light themselves. 

He traces his seminal experience with light to the moment in his youth when his father was dying in hospital; 

how the light falling on the stainless steel frame of his father’s bed left an indelible imprint on his mind. 

He recommends the use of florescent light, 

preferably cold in tone, when viewers look at his work.
